Elliott, you may have heard that Storey County Building and Storey County Fire Department are doing plan checking on line. They are using part of a web based system we use. This is not an ad, I just wanted to let you know that some of this is coming. City of Reno has also started investigating the possibilities. The current hang up is the use of digital stamps. The legislature is being approached next session to work on that.
Our system has 2 distinct sections. In one, low res PDFs are posted for fast viewing. In the other high res tiffs or any AutoCad file are loaded and can easily be checked in and out for mark ups and revisions. Access and revisions are tightly controlled.
Paperless (or paperlight) is moving along. I'm sure BJG is pursuing it in conjunction with your green initiatives.

Your site is awesome. I visited it once before but will try to make time to check in more often.
